BACKGROUND: Keith Hugenberg graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS in Electrical Engineering 1987 and an MS in EE and Physics in 1988. After graduation, he worked for 7 years at National Laboratory working on extremely sophisticated and state-of-the-art energy and laser systems as a Senior System's Engineer. It was there that he became an expert at understanding how to design, analyze, and solve very complex ENERGY systems (you will understand why this was very important when you read about the PHOENIX STOCK TRADING SYSTEM). His responsibilites included understanding, solving, and developing the high level system principles as well as the smallest of details on these energy systems. The next move took him to the Telecom Industry where he continued to perform as a Senior System's Engineer and Analyst on the most advanced telecom and communications systems in several different companies until 2002. This work continued to expand and sharpen his "ENERGY" system's solution background. As with most people, the Chartguy traded part-time in the stock market for several years while he was working and was quite successful until 2000. After the 2000 technology bubble crash and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks rocked the investment community, it became clear that the "new" stock market had to be traded differently. It was obvious that the "Buy and Hold" strategy or simply buying the hot technology stocks was no longer always appropriate for the stock market and that a real "Trading System" was needed to be able make money in the stock market.
THE NEW TRADING SYSTEM: In early 2002, he retired and was fortunate enough to be able to focus full time on stock trading. It was at this time that he started developing a "Trading System" that would consistently beat the market. In the first six months, he spent countless hours reading all of the technical analysis books he could find, and purchased many of the trading software programs and subscription services available. Furthermore, the hypothetical paper trading results from using the canned software and available "Systems" or "Subscriptions" were dismal to say the least. Unfortunately, he was dismayed at the lack of "practical" trading information and the absence of a real "Trading System" that adequately addressed many of the most important aspects of trading.
To make a long story short, he spent the next 30 months developing his own trading system by applying his expertise in developing ENERGY SYSTEM'S solutions to the stock market. It was this strong technical background that allowed him to describe the stock market as an "ENERGY SYSTEM", and it is that foundation that brings us this REVOLUTIONARY new look at trading. He continuously iterated on the initial system design and created enormous amounts of documentation by chart "back testing" his principles, rules, and techniques.
And, after over 2 years of tireless researching, reading, and full time paper and real trading, he was able to create THE PHOENIX STOCK TRADING SYSTEM.
